Tennis Anyone?
Despite the colder weather, residents of The Waters are already lining up to play on our two recently unveiled tennis courts. Innovative in both design and construction, the new courts will receive their final touch in early spring, when a special, easier on the knees, cushioned surface called Plexicusion is applied. In the meantime, though, they're open and fully playable.
Outdoor Kitchen "Christened"
Waters resident Chad Emerson (pictured) emerged late fall as the inaugural user of our new, outdoor kitchen, grilling up hotdogs in celebration of his son Owen's fourth birthday. According to Emerson, with its gas grill (complete with rotisserie), double burner cooktop, sink and counter space, the kitchen is "a great addition to a growing list of great amenities at The Waters." From the look of things, it appears the neighbors agree.
More Neighbors On the Way
As many have experienced first hand, the paving of Chapel Hill Street, as well as portions of Ring Around Road and Waters View Drive, was recently completed. Not only does this increase the number of connections in our street network, opening up a variety of options for managing/directing traffic flow, it opens the door to further home construction (just as Bright Spot Street's completion initiated the sideyard homes now being built). Perhaps now more than ever, there's never been a better time for your friends to join you here at The Waters. Spread the word!
Neighbors Go A-Caroling
The Christmas season was in full force this year as a collection of Waters neighbors came together December 8th to light the Lucas Point tree, then huddle in the Pavilion singing holiday songs under the steady guidance of neighbor Jack Horner, the Director of Music at First United Methodist Church. Further adding to the picture-perfect proceedings were the extensive holiday decorations adorning homes up and down the Avenue of the Waters. In the words of participants, the event seemed an "ideal start to a great holiday tradition."
Meet the Neighborhood "Butlers"
Take a stroll down to Boardwalk Street, just around the corner from Waters View Drive, and you'll find the latest addition to Lucas Point -- a classic architectural arrangement known as a "triplet" -- which we've dubbed our "butler" homes. Featuring a home plan originally called "The Belvedere," we felt each individual home was worthy of its own famous butler moniker. Now presenting, for your approval, Mr. Belvedere, Mr. French and Mr. Jeeves.
Builders Guild Expands
Rising to meet the increasing demand for new homes here at The Waters, a number of new builders have recently been added to our Builders Guild. Check our website often (www.thewatersal.com) for the latest listing of participants, as well as information about their companies.
