Chapel Hill Meeting House: Open at Last! After months of design and careful construction, The Waters’ has officially opened the doors of its beautiful Chapel Hill Meeting House, a spectacular community centerpiece built by Builders Guild member, Andrew & Dawson. Seating over 260 people, the Meeting House is a multi-purpose facility that will serve everything from business meetings to seminars to community movie nights to no-holds-barred dream weddings.
Cutting the Ribbon, Tying the Knot No sooner had the Chapel Hill Meeting House opened for business than it was officially inaugurated by the wedding of Tyler Walker, son/grandson of our Founders, and Paula Prophet, a member of our development team since the beginning. On a picture perfect day late in September, the couple exchanged vows, then took a horse-drawn carriage ride down to their reception on the lakeside Crescent Green to meet with family and friends, many of whom are neighbors that arrived at the festivities on foot. The couple now resides on Bright Spot Street, just a few blocks from the site of their wedding.
Bank on This! October 24th saw the grand opening of the Community Bank and Trust branch now gracing our Town Square, as CBT President Dave Bryant, Pike Road Mayor Gordon Stone, Waters’ Founders Ed Welch and Dale Walker, and other well-wishers gathered to make it official. Make sure to drop by, open up a convenient account, and say hello to the always delightful Miss Marge and Miss Suzanne--- and pick yourself up a bag of complimentary popcorn.
Trick or Treat? The Waters was the site of all kinds of Halloween festivities this year, beginning the Saturday prior, when a good 40 neighbors gathered on the Town Square to clean out and carve pumpkins. Later, once the sun had gone down, an old-fashioned hayride got underway, winding the not-so-squeamish through some particularly ghoulish woods near Lake Cameron. Finally, come Halloween night, 120 neighbors – kids and parents alike – gathered at the community pavilion for hotdogs, then headed door to door for the best trick or treating in the region.

Join the Parade, Part One Once again, the Greater Montgomery Home Builders’ fall Parade of Homes proved to be a big success, generating 2,500 visitors and more sales than we’ve ever had before. In addition to the beautiful weather, a definite highlight was builder Shawn York’s grand home on the Avenue, a blue ribbon Award of Excellence winner featuring an enormous party pavilion.
Join the Parade, Part Two A festive Kids Parade was just the beginning as neighbors from throughout The Waters gathered November 11 for our annual Founders Day celebration. In addition to the elaborate efforts of our youngsters, we also had live blue grass, food, games an old fashioned S’mores bonfire, and our number one specialty: lots of fellowship.
