The Waters

September 2007

Come Together Now
The wait is over this month with completion of The Waters’ spectacular Chapel Hill Meeting House, just in time to host the September 30th wedding of Tyler Walker (son of Founder Dale Walker) and Paula Prophet (of our Sales Team). Once inaugurated, the building, which seats over 260 people, will serve everything from community meetings to movie nights to more dream weddings.

Tennis Center Dedicated
Catching him completely off guard with a surprise ceremony, The Waters celebrated the completion of 3 additional tennis courts and a basketball court by naming the complex in honor of Founder – and avid tennis enthusiast – Ed Welch. Tennis has emerged as The Waters’ most vibrant social scene, with lessons and leagues suited to all ages and skill levels.

The Ideas Keep Coming
Montgomery Living magazine will be sponsoring not one but two Idea Homes at this year’s Parade of Homes. Both are variations on The Waters’ Bridge Street Condos – one comfortably traditional, the other sleek and contemporary – demonstrating just how varied loft living can be for those who want a “lock and go” low maintenance lifestyle. Condo homes at The Waters can be found just upstairs (or up the newly installed elevator!) from the neighborhood’s popular Bridge Street Market and YMCA.

Charm in the Trees
The Waters’ carriage homes are now under construction. Secluded in the center of the block between the Town Square and Lake Cameron, these homes are perfect for those who value great views, convenience, antique heart pine flooring and vaulted ceilings. Each carriage house includes a two car garage on the first floor. Pricing starts at $199,900.

Traditional Living is Green Living
The Waters got an ideal chance to tout the myriad environmental benefits of traditional living recently, when members of the team participated in Eco Max Home Expo 2007, the first green building show in the River Region. In addition to talking up our materials, techniques and other green-friendly attributes, we were also distinguished by the company we keep, as many of our subcontractors were also highlighted.

Hooked on the Alabama River
The Waters shows its support this fall for both the environment and the arts, as a sponsor for the Hooked on Alabama River Festival of Fishing Lures. The project consists of 30, six foot long fishing lures creatively transformed by local artists into works of art, then displayed throughout Montgomery and Prattville. Beginning in November, The Waters fishing lure will be permanently displayed here, greeting everyone at the entrance to our Marina.
