Pike Road One Step Closer to Creating School District The Town of Pike Road took another major step towards establishing its own school system April 17, when The Waters formally donated a 40-acre site and unveiled the location, design and basic curriculum for the intended pre-K through 12th grade school. During the much-anticipated press conference where the announcements were made, town officials detailed their plans for making the system – and the school – a reality as soon as possible. An informational open house will be held at The Waters on May 21st at 6:00 p.m. on the Town Square.
Hooked on Fishing It’s been less than three years since The Waters began the process of cultivating Lake Cameron as a world-class fishing lake, yet we’re already finding our biggest fish – F1 Tiger Bass – as heavy as 8lbs. Confirmed by a strong recent report and clean bill of health from our lake management company, fishing here has exceeded the already high expectations of both residents and the Development Team. Even folks who’d never held a reel are finding themselves hooked!
Bridge Street Market Turns One Hosting everything from bingo to trivia night to special holiday dinners, the Bridge Street Market has become the social hub of The Waters’ community. And on Saturday night, April 19, it hit the one-year milestone and celebrated with a neighborhood party. Wrapped in a beautiful evening, the huge turnout spilled out into the square, as folks ate dinner and danced to live music. Later, gifts were presented to the staff, acknowledging their pivotal role in making the Market more than anyone dreamed possible.
Tennis Anyone? Residents at The Waters recently hosted a variety of collegiate tennis players from Penn State and NC State, in town for a local tournament, and organized the Waters’ Blue Gray Tennis Cookout to celebrate. The festive evening of food and play was a prime example of just how important tennis has become to the neighborhood, with over 60 residents now participating in our various tennis leagues. With a wide range of opportunities and available lessons – from beginners to advanced tournament players – The Waters’ offers anyone with any level of interest a vibrant community of like-minded folks to share it with.

Easter Egg Hunting Plays Out on the Big Stage Easter at The Waters this year not only included neighborhood children searching for hidden eggs, it also confirmed the age old mantra of: location, location, location. After all, candy scattered around the yard is one thing; spread across the town square is a whole other ballgame. Kids from all over came together to search for eggs of all colors – including some special golden ones – as delighted parents cheered them on.
Spread a Little Sunshine For the second year in a row, members of The Waters' team were proud supporters of the Family Sunshine Center's Making Homes Safe Havens fund-raiser, which aids their efforts to help victims of domestic violence. Builder Bob Parker provided the event’s key giveaway: a custom playhouse with all the charm of a home at The Waters. It, together with the day’s birdhouse decoration, local music and fashion, helped the event raise even more money than last year.
